Forehead lift aesthetics is the name given to the procedures performed to soften forehead wrinkles and to give you a more vigorous and youthful appearance. Forehead lift aesthetics can also be combined with eyebrow lift aesthetics. In the same session, while the wrinkled appearance on the forehead is reduced, drooping eyebrows can be brought to a more suitable position. One of the most important points to consider here is the shape and height of the eyebrows. The highest point of an ideal eyebrow should be the point where 1/3 outer part and 2/3 inner part meet. Otherwise, if the lateral end of the eyebrow is determined as the highest point of the eyebrow, an unnatural appearance may be obtained.
Am I Suitable For A Forehead Lift?
Suitable candidates for surgery are people who do not have any additional health problems or chronic diseases, who are in good physical and mental health and who do not smoke. Performing the procedure with general anesthesia is more convenient in terms of patient comfort and procedural success. For this reason, your doctor and team will examine your health status in detail before the operation, you will talk about your medical history, the medication or herbal supplements you use, and also how the surgical procedure will progress. After the anesthesia examination, you will be asked for the necessary analyzes. In order to give a better opinion on the results you expect during your examination, it is recommended that you do some preliminary research and write down the questions you are curious about.
Forehead Lift Techniques
Undoubtedly, one of the most important determinants in choosing forehead lift techniques is the position of your hairline. If your hairline, that is, the junction of your scalp and balding forehead, is too far ahead, it is appropriate to place the incisions related to forehead lift into the hair. Although this condition can be treated with a method called “bicoronal” incision, which is called open, and the entire forehead is stretched through the hair, it can also be treated with a closed method, called endoscopic, where the forehead is stretched by entering from 3 or 5 points in the scalp. Both methods have distinct advantages. In the open technique using the classic “bicoronal” incision, the forehead is stretched more homogeneously. On the other hand, in endoscopic techniques, the incision is less and the recovery is easier and faster. In patients with very wide foreheads, it is recommended to place the forehead lift incision along the hairline so that the forehead does not become wider. In this case, the open technique, which is usually performed with a “bicoronal” incision, is more appropriate.
Although it varies according to the technique to be performed after the forehead lift surgery, it takes around 1-3 weeks to return to work. There may be a mild pain that can be easily controlled with painkillers. It is recommended to avoid heavy exercises for 1 month. Stitches will be removed in 1-2 weeks depending on the technique used.
Botulinum Toxin Applications
Botulinum toxin applications are the most performed non-surgical application in the world for the forehead area. Its advantages are that it can be done in a short time in clinical conditions and that it has an anti-wrinkle effect as it reduces muscle activity. On the other hand, the duration of effect is around 4-6 months. For those who are looking for a more permanent solution or for whom botulinum toxin application is insufficient, surgical forehead lift will be more appropriate.
Rope Hanging Methods
The preference of thread stretching or hanging methods, which have been very popular in the field of non-surgical aesthetics in recent years, has gradually decreased today. Because in these methods, the threads cannot support the tissue for a sufficient time, and they release the tissue after a short time. In addition to the temporary results, some reactions that may develop against the ropes have also led to a decrease in their preference. For these reasons, rope hanging methods are not applied in our clinic.
Hyaluronic Acid or Oil Fillers
If the wrinkles on the forehead have caused deep fractures in the skin over time, botulinum toxin applications or forehead lift may not completely treat these fractures. In this case, ready-to-use hyaluronic acid fillers or oil fillers obtained from your own fat can be applied directly into these fractures. In this way, it may be possible to achieve a smoother appearance.
